What is Thundercat Racing?
Its high adrenalin and high action with explosive wave jumping and tight competitive surf racing in a 4.1m tunnel hulled inflatable boat, powered by a 50hp Tohatsu motor. Racing at up to 80km/h in the breaking surf right next to the shore it’s a great spectator sport. These are the rally cars of the boating world and they are called Thundercats.
Whilst being an incredible sport Thundercats are a fantastic recreational boat too. The catamaran pontoons make the boats incredibly stable making them great for fishing, diving, towing skiers and wake boarders or cruising out to Rotto.
West Coast Thundercats is the WA branch of a national body of Thundercat Racing Clubs, their aim is to start a racing calendar by summer 2010. They are currently seeking new interested members and sponsors for this awesome sport. Their start of season meeting will be on the 16th of August hosted at Parker Marine from 2pm onward.
